On both sides of the mighty Danube river ripen white wines, juicy and full of finesse, especially Gruner Veltliner and Riesling, affected by winemakers with a very high understanding of their "Terroir".

In and around Vienna ripen grape varieties like Spaetrot or St. Laurent, or specialities like Gemischter Satz. An elegant combination between wines with tradition, modern cellars and technology equipment.

More and more wine experts are heralding the racy Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, Morillon or Muskateller yielded from the romantic, steep hills of the South Styria.

Gruner Veltliner and Riesling are growing on steep vineyard terraces on both sides of the Danube, classified either as light and fragrant Steinfeder, as fruity and charming Federspiel or full-bodied Smaragd.

Around the shores of this shallow steppe lake grows an extensive variety of grapes for aromatic white wines, firm and confident red wines and the internationally renowned sweet wines.

This area yields such a range of wines, from Chardonnay and Weissburgunder to racy red wines like Blaufraenkisch and Pinot Noir - and especially the world-famous sweet wine, Ruster Ausbruch.

Close to Vienna in a romantic, hilly landscape grows the most typical Austrian white wine, Gruner Veltliner, but also red wines like Zweigelt and Blaufraenkisch with fruit and elegance.
